Support Group

When you want to meet other moms you can develop friendships with.  You want people you can talk to who get ALL of it:  what it's like being a counselor and holding all the feelings, being a mom and holding MORE feelings, and still making space for yourself.

Support groups are not therapy groups.  They meet once a week as a place to network, relax, get support, and get to know other moms who are therapists.

Yep.  That's me the year I started my private practice.  Creating a child and a private practice in the same year was daunting, to say the least.  Since then I've added one other kiddo and many years of experience of being a Therapist Mom.

This, I feel, is a title in and of itself:  the Therapist Mom.  So much about my practice changed when I became a mother.  Suddenly I was approaching clients through a different lens, with different responses I needed to understand and work through.  My boundaries and time needs shifted as I negotiated my new identity of therapist and mother.

Being a therapist mom faces us with new questions...  How do we care for our clients, ourselves, our children, and our partners without suffering compassion fatigue?  How do we understand when a client suddenly begins "no showing" now that a large belly shares the room?  How do we find rejuvenation and support through the personal and professional changes of having a child?

I needed a mom support group, but I needed case consultation, help understanding my role as therapist, caretaker, wife... the works.  Now, I provide that for other moms to support you in your journey.

Enter, The Therapist Mom Circles.  Both formal and informally spaces for you to show up and get the support you need!
